A very small, or even a very, very large part of our journey. A small, fleeting memory, or even a formative part of ourselves.

And now, in these days that are the last of September according to the Julian calendar (let’s hope that according to the Meusian calendar, they will only be the beginning), while part of us is becoming more and more energetic, while construction projects are being planned defiantly and preparations are being made for as long a period of perseverance as possible. Now there is also that part that mourns and looks wistfully (? WISHFULLY) at the stars above the train station and—perhaps you feel the same way I do—the part that worries about the hole they want to tear us into, about the depression that could follow.

For my part, I want to counter their attacks on all levels, including the emotional one. So here’s my little suggestion:

Write a letter to La Gare. Write — a lot or a little — happily, sadly, angrily. But write. Above all, write about what they can’t take away from us. About what remains, even after a possible eviction. Write about memories, arguments, laughter, old and new friendships, about love and rebellion, about conspiracy and rendez-vous. Write about what remains within you, how La Gare has touched you, what continues to exist, what carries you forward.

Write—in whatever language you want—and send it to: lagareavu[at]immerda.ch
(and don’t forget to send your photos, if you have any).

The letters will be collected and published in a suitable form. Feel free to get in touch if you want to participate.

See you soon.

La Gare.
