Since August 2021, only a few days have been recorded without attempts to cross the Polish-Belarusian border. Despite the constantly expanding barrier, the increasingly numerous and brutal presence of the services, and the decreasing public interest, the migration rout through Belarus and Poland remains open and allows people on the way to get to Europe.
We invite you to a meeting about what has been happening on the Polish-Belarusian border over the last 2.5 years and what is happening today. About the militarized and brutal response of the Polish authorities and their dehumanizing narrativeabout migration. About racism and violence of the services, constantly expanding border barriers and the detention of migrants ressembling a stay in prison. About the criminalization of solidarity, but also about the power of mutual support and grassroots initiatives. Finally, how much the practices on the Polish-Belarusian border resemble those already known to us from other borders of Europe and the world.
We would like this meeting, apart from presenting and talking about the border, to also be an opportunity to talk together about migration and border activities, as well as a place to jointly reflect on the possibilities of building cooperation and mutual support.
The talk will be in english and french, with translation.
