Communiqué #2 of the SISME : “100 000€, the price of freedom”

January 18th, 6AM, four people were arrested, their living spaces searched, part of their goods seized. They were accused of sabotaging measuring masts for wind farm projects in Haute-Vienne, betwenn july and october 2022.

The story :

During custody of one of them, as soon as the second interrogation, the investigators lined up the damages costs.

The predators, SAS WPD ONSHORE FRANCE, ENGIE GREEn S.A. and RPGLOBAL FRANCE who pressed charges didn’t waste time and already provided a damage compensation bill (even if following their declaration they had no intention of rebuilding these masts) for a total amount of 350 000 euros.

After 38 hours of custody and one hour spend in the moustrap of Limoges court, the person faces the investigating judge. It’s 8 PM, the judge list the charges. In summary, « destruction of properties », participating in « criminal association in order to prepare an offence punished by at least 5 years in jail, commited in association by one or more person voluntarily dissimulating their face in the intent of not being identified » ; « refusal of submission during operations of personal data statement ».

Came after the requisition on judicial supervision :

Prohibition of leaving Dordogne ; sign-in with the police station every week ; prohibition of getting in contact with the other convincted and payment of a 180 000 bill !

The appointed lawyer sought by the judge on the price of the bill, note that this is a pre-sentencious measure and offers « less than 50 000 euros ». The lawyer and the accused leave. The judge delibarates with herself and after 5 minutes finally offers 100 000 euros : a fine of 20 000 euros and 80 000 for damage compensation.

This commercial pitch only lasted for a few minutes.

Total demanded to the 4 accused = 120000 euros.

The other accused share the rest of the fine of 20 000 euros.

End of the accounting.

Two days later the half page in Sud-Ouest devoted to the case claims that the damages amounts to 500 000 euros.

All of this before judgement.

 

The sentence is the procedure.

Tools of so-called « justice » :

We prefer to talk about a « judicial system » because we clearly see this structural alliance between the State and the capital.

– The money (bail)

The price of liberty.

Now the deal is : If you want to stay free, pay 100 000 euros.

100 000€ or pre-trial detention, to add to the extortion, it’s charging heavily, whatever it takes, the accused ; once more the State justice is in service of capitalism (80 000 euros of compensation before judgement).

– Judicial supervision

To impose judicial supervisions that limits travel, constitute a immediate sentence and for an unlimited time. The ban of keeping contact between the accused limits even more the collective defense against the justice.

– Discrimination between the accused

with bail inegality, that is also here to divise.

– Pre-emptive jail

A big part of France inmates are in pre-emptive jail:waiting for trial ; meanwhile the State builds new jails with their yet another Jail Agenda, to imprison more and more.

If the destruction of a few measuring masts is an offence before the law, it is for us an act of legitimate resistance commited without violence on living beings, it’s a symbolic act that only dent the endless confidence, the will of conquest of these greedy predators.

In a social war context, these acts appear to us as self-defense.

The true victims aren’t those that justice names. The true victimes are those of these predators that nothing stops.

The person risks provisional custody because they don’t want to pay their liberty. It is extortion.

Because they don’t want to compensate capitalist predators ;

Because they want to let it be know what is the judicial system today ;

Because they want the anti-wind farms and anti-capitalistic cause to be heard ;

They will try to go all the way. To not give in the blackmail.

There was an appeal to this decision, the result of the march 9th audience in Limoges will come out march 23rd.

Even if we don’t acknoledge this « justice », can we still contest it and stand up to it ? We believe that yes as we live in this world, we have to defend ourselves.

We stand for the people accused of sabotaging wind-farm measuring masts, guilty or innocent, because these actions are a breath of resistance against the absurdity of this authoritarian world and green capitalism.
