Internationalist news

imagebrevesinter

The intention of these internationalist briefs is to participate in relaying information that indicates where, when and how imperialist wars continue to ravage territories in different parts of the world.

I take the initiative to relay news from Sudan, Palestine and Rojava ; because it is the situations that I have witnessed through the stories of exiled people, internationalists or not, that convey the struggles underway there. There are of course many struggles elsewhere in the world that we must draw inspiration from for our struggles here, and that we must seek to support with the means at our disposal.

I hope this initiative encourages others with news from other places, to share them.

I hope that this news encourages us to keep the course of our struggles : liberation from capitalist power. Unavoidably collective, socialist & internationalist liberation. These words have meanings provided they are mobilized with our anarchist benchmarks : anti-authoritarian, transfeminist, antiracist, antifascist, antispeciesist.

Sudan

(1) colonial legacy + (2) extractivism + (3) imperialist wars = the population in Sudan that pays the blood price of capitalist development

The peoples in Sudan resist and organize themselves. Ways to support the revolution in Sudan exist, while the responsibility of European governments and capitalist powers can be fought here.

People exiled in France from Sudan have created the sudfa media ; which relays a large number of news and analyses of the situation in Sudan. Both to convey the ravages of the ongoing war as well as the resistances deployed within the peoples.

(1) and (2) ; the following article describes in detail the links between the legacy of English colonialism in Sudan which fractured the ties between different peoples and communities, to explain how one arrives at the current situation which is linked to the wars of influence that different Nation-States are waging through access (and their control) to mineral resources in particular. The parallel is made with the Congo where the issues of extractivism are omnipresent and continue for many years to destroy the human communities that live there.

Palestine

(1) colonial heritage + (2) fascist power + (3) imperialist wars = the Palestinian people who have been living under torture and the threat of extermination for several decades.

The Palestinian people and their supporters are organizing and resisting. There are many ways to participate in these fights.

Other news allow us to make the connection with the antifascist struggles here.

*Campaign thousand madleens

The crews seeking to break the blockade of Gaza have been in turn for many years. In the last 2 years, this mode of action has become more urgent and necessary than ever. This proves to all struggles that we must never wait to implement actions that seem relevant to us, while not losing sight of the fact that we must succeed in amplifying them as the imperialist threat worsens disaster and destruction.

The thousand madleans campaign needs money, people ready to commit their work, material support and international support, among others.

(1) and (2) through the story of internationalists who came to support the work of Palestinians in the West Bank and gather their stories, we can better understand how the colonialism of the State of Israel unfolds. Such methods must not leave any doubt as to the intentions of the State of Israel; it has no intention of allowing cohabitation between the different religious communities and totally rejects the self-determination of the Palestinian people. The resistances there powerfully show how we can resist here. By keeping in mind that the more we manage to share the fruits of solidarity between struggles, the stronger we will be together.

Rojava

(1) colonial heritage + (2) fight against “terrorism” + (3) imperialist wars = the struggle of the Kurdish people faces the game of geo-political alliances that allow the United States to progress in influence in the Middle East, in complicity with Israel and Turkey, two States today in the hands of fascist powers.

Since the beginning of February, agreements signed between representatives of the administration of northeast Syria (administration resulting from the revolution in Rojava) and the government of Damascus led by Jolani (from HTS forces) endorsed the invasion of the Syrian central power that took place throughout the month of January. These agreements nevertheless made it possible to protect the achievements of the Rojava revolution. The situation, as always, requires support for the balance of power, which has drastically changed in a few weeks. The damage is of a very great gravity, on the communities living in north-eastern Syria and on the revolutionary organizations of Rojava. Solidarity is more than ever necessary.

(1) and (2)

As in Sudan and Palestine, it is difficult to summarize in a meaningful way how the colonial legacy shapes the structuring of nation-states today. What it is possible to keep in mind is that Western interests continue today to ravage many territories. Western governments are politically unable (and notably by total absence of political will) to face the predation of capitalist economies whose centers still remain largely structured today from Europe and North America. The geo-political rivalries with Russia and China mask the capitalist standardization of economies.

It is particularly against this that the Kurds and many other communities and ethnic groups are fighting in Syria. It is in these wills of hegemony and conquest of the State that the Syrian people are plunged.

While the reactionary ideology of Islamist groups gathered within ISIS made all the governments of the world “tremble” ; the populations in Syria, or even in Iraq and its surroundings were facing the terrible violence that ISIS inflicts on rebel populations. As has happened many times in the history of global capitalism, it was a boon for Western governments who could wrap themselves in their most beautiful sentiments of defense of freedom to go fight Daech and “save” the populations of the Middle East. The reality is much more cynical.

I will not be able to summarize how US imperialism generated these terrorist groups. But we can remember that globally, in the face of the struggles of the peoples of the so-called “global South” (thus globally, the least decisional countries in the organization of the world capitalist market), the United States has always played a role of counter-revolution. Assassinations of progressive/socialist leaders, supply of arms to reactionary rebel groups used to destabilize a region of the world, influence and support for military coups d’état to ensure access to all kinds of mineral resources. It’s a classic recipe for the US military and intelligence: to increase chaos, and then intervene to gain control over how wealth is produced and distributed.

It is not a matter of idealizing the countries of the so-called ‘global South’ but of understanding as Westerners that we must clean up at home, and no longer leave power in the hands of our bourgeoisies, whose power lies in many in the trio: industrial – military – Central State. One could also expatiate for a long time to define this ‘central State’; and there are several ways to designate it.

But it will be for a next brief !

*** To finish ***

I didn’t know the site below, but I found it while browsing the internet. You will find documentaries and archives about anti-racist struggles in the United States during the 60s and 70s ; the militant legacy of this period is enormous and continues to nourish the struggles in many places. Memory all the more necessary today as the fascists in the United States seem determined to stop at nothing. The force that it is a question of opposing them must take into account the existential threat they are addressing to the rest of the world. We are concerned in fRance; given the official position as an ally and given the historical, military, economic, and diplomatic ties that connect West European capitalism with North American capitalism.

(3) the imperialist wars

About the interests of the imperialist powers that dictate the course of the world, it seems important not to impose a “liberal” or “cynical” vision on international relations. Visions that would seek to summarize the ongoing wars as the inevitable result of an eternal battle for access to resources and in search of economic and military hegemony. All states of the world would be put in the same basket, and the bellicose wills brought back to the individual goodwill or moral ethics of the leaders of each country.

The United States, the United Kingdom, France, more broadly the European Union, notably within the transatlantic military alliance (NATO) and to another extent Russia and China, and also after Brazil, India, Japan, Iran, Saudi Arabia, … (non-exhaustive list) ; not all these states have the same powers, nor the same influences. We must look at the military power and the military presence, the diplomatic weight and the economic role, or even the links between multinationals, banks, and private companies that structure the global economy primarily with a global base: extractivism and the control of resources.

All these countries are also at the top of the list of those whose nation-states are the most dangerous for others, the most militarily aggressive, and whose repression against their own populations leaves no doubt about the will to crush political struggles for the emancipation of peoples. It is therefore important to distinguish between countries (populated by multiple communities, inhabitants and peoples whose singular histories are precious) and nation-states which are the political, economic, and military construction of bourgeois powers in search of all-political power, of global economic hegemony and military supremacy.

The United States is omnipresent militarily in the world, and this is NOT good news. The military presence of France in various African countries is NOT good news either. The European Union has enormous influence in the organization of the world market and in diplomatic roles ; which many countries have been trying to circumvent for many years or decades, but sometimes collaborate very actively and want their share of the capitalist cake.

It is not a question of asking the State in Solidarity to ‘take its responsibilities’ in the face of the expanding imperialist war. It is a matter of removing power from the hands of capitalists. In Revolution, the capitalists are organized within the bourgeois class. It is about refusing to participate in the imperialist war that corresponds to the interests of the bourgeois class. In Russia, weapons are produced, military logistics are ensured, alliances with the fascists are concluded.

All this may seem much too large to us on our individual scales, or even collective in our different activist spaces. But we must keep in mind that none of this rests entirely on our personal scales. We share the weight of imperialist threats. What is important is to hold on to what we already hold as anarchists, feminists, anticapitalists, … etc., and to seek to connect with each other continuously. Seek to connect the struggles between them and seek to extend the solidarities that already hold us together. It is a long, meticulous, and patient work. Sometimes, when the violence we face is too great, we can be desperate; and we have good reasons to be. What can help is not to forget that we already have on our hands, in our militant spaces, in the solidarities that we seek to extend, which is a source of joy. Around me, I see only people in a breathless quest for meaningful lives and joys. And every day, these joys come. So when the imperialist forces attack without restraint the most isolated struggles, or the most threatening in their eyes; and well, trying to connect with these struggles is the best way not to sink into despair. Seeking to connect with these struggles is to continue to display the joy of defending ourselves together against a system that does not want to die ; but everything must die, even though this thing is the most powerful military and economic system we have known to date.

Do not give up trying to coordinate on a large scale.

Do not give up nurturing struggles locally, by taking the time to build our solidarities.

Do not give up on defending oneself; in the face of fascists, in the face of the state, in the face of capitalist institutions.

Do not give up any means of action; and always ask oneself = why do we do what we are doing? to whom and to what does it give power? of what do we have to defend ourselves?

Revolutionary greetings
