LET’S DERAIL THE EVICTION

– LA GARE TAKES IT’S REVENGE –

[In view of the latest information, The CIGEO* wishes to clarify its intentions.]

The former station of Luméville-en-Ornois is an emblematic place of the antinuclear struggle purchased 19 years ago. It was expropriated by ANDRA (the National Radioactive Waste Management Agency) during the year because it is located on the train path that will bring the waste to the Cigéo nuclear landfill. After a long legal battle to slow the progress of this project as much as possible, the occupiers finally received a command to leave the premises by April 09, 2026. After this date, the police can intervene to expel.

It is out of the question to leave this place of our own volition, but we also do not want to undergo an expulsion on terms decided by the prefecture and which would leave us with a bitter taste of powerlessness. We don’t want to wake up to someone one morning, surrounded by hundreds of barrels.

That’s why we invite all those who have forged a link with La Gare and all those who want to discover and defend it to come from April 13 to 19 to derail the eviction !

Derailing the expulsion does not mean preventing it. We know well that on this ground, the State is stronger than us. It is rather a question of being inventive to transform a programmed defeat into a surprise victory, of making this event no longer a hard blow for the antinuclear struggle, but a success full of joy and resistance. We want to take the time to remember, to celebrate all these years of struggles at La Gare. We want to fight now to regain control over our lives and prevent the prefecture from rolling out a scripted scenario. We finally want to prepare for the future, strengthen our complicity to fight the next steps of the Cigéo project. (1)

Come with your most flamboyant ideas, insubordination, memories, hopes, and friends. Come with awareness of going to a evictable location and prepare accordingly.

PROGRAMME :

From April 9th, “commandement de quitter les lieux” (order to leave the place), come and occupy!

From April 13 to 19, week of workshops, round tables, and organization to derail the eviction

From April 17 to 19, weekend of resistance and celebration

April 19 : PROTEST

The event will be maintained even if La Gare is evicted before !

In this case, the workshops will be moved to another place and the event, instead of leaving La Gare to go to Mandres-en-Barrois, will make the opposite journey.

While the government has decided to give the Cigéo project a boost, it’s time to pull the emergency brake!(1)
