CALL TO JOIN THE OCCUPATION OF THE CHARTREUSE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!
Concrete is threatening once again the existence of a wetland and all the living beings that inhabit it or live alongside it. The real estate developer Matexi seems determined to force through the construction of a residential area while the decision of the State Council on the validity of the building permit has not yet been given! An occupation of the land began this Sunday, March 27, with the aim of blocking access to the machines.
A REQUEST FOR SUSPENSION IS UNDERWAY
Launched quickly by the collective “Un Air de Chartreuse” the decision will be rendered Monday by the court. We call on you to join us now, in numbers. It seems important to us to have as many brains and bodies as possible to think/construct the future of this struggle. All the more so as the outcome of this appeal will radically change the course of events, and we have reason to believe that the court’s decision will not be in our favor. Saturday will mark the launch of our great weekend “Ren-Fort de la Chartreuse” which in addition to a moment of collective organization will be the occasion to advance on the various building sites, to spend a pleasant moment around concerts and meals and who knows maybe to settle down for a little while…
Other events will follow! We still want this chartreuse and we want it for everyone, green and not commercial!
The urgent character of the suspension of the permit was not retained by the council of state.
The destruction of the heritage, of the biodiversity, of the doubly classified site does not constitute a serious and urgent prejudice in their eyes.
The cutting down of trees during the nesting period of birds does not constitute a serious and urgent prejudice either.
Destruction of more than 1 Ha of wetland, so useful to catch the waters of the heights in order to limit the floods neither.
The appeal for the cancellation of the permit is still in progress but may take several months, even years.
In the meantime, Matexi can start work if it wishes.
