[BURE] About the defense of La Gare :

Since October 11, La Gare has been illegally occupied. We have behind us the first trying days of anguish and hope, of fear and joy that such a situation brings. The setting of a new hearing date on November 5 gives us a little respite and an opportunity to catch our breath. We do not yet know if we will be (again) legally evictable from 6 November or if the judgment will be delivered at a later date. The current situation also does not protect us against the realistic possibility of an illegal eviction, not to mention the risk of attacks and increasing provocations by law enforcement for several days. There is therefore still much to do, both for us on site and for you who wish to support us! We wish to give you below a brief (certainly incomplete) overview of the situation…

Phase 1 : the occupation (where we are currently)

• Sign up for the alert list (signal) and stay informed about the current state of things on bureburebure.info. You will find here information on this subject here : https://bureburebure.info/en/events/event/fil-info-occupation-de-la-gare/

• Help maintain the occupation and prepare for the upcoming attack. There are many things to participate in : managing the daily routine as a collective, ensuring the lookouts, strengthening the defenses and much more… Emotional support, friendliness or even your simple presence are factors not to be underestimated.

• It is not certain that we will be able to determine the eviction date in advance and give the alert in time to mobilize when the time comes. Because besides a part of luck, it also strongly depends on our abilities and the support we will receive on site.

• If you are determined to oppose the impending eviction, delay it, and, in the best case scenario, prevent it, then this is NOW the right time to come here!

• If you can’t come, support us from the outside: inform and mobilize your friends and comrades (for example, through information meetings and support evenings, resources are available, contact us). Increase the pressure on political and economic leaders (solidarity actions). Prepare yourself to be able to react spontaneously to an eviction alert !

Phase 2 : the « evacuation »

• In case of an attack on La Gare, we will trigger the evacuation alert on all channels at our disposal. Help us to spread this information as much as possible and come here as soon as possible!
• The objective is to make expulsion difficult and, in the best case, to prevent it. Whether it is on barricades, by high blockages or various actions, any initiative aimed at achieving this goal is welcome!
• During the evacuation phase (and afterwards), the legal team, medics and a listening team will be available.
• The day after the attack, an emergency meeting will be organized in Bure for people from the area and outside : 10am / BZL
• We assume that La Gare will then be closed or difficult to access, or even already evacuated. In this case, come anyway! We will set up gathering points for people coming from outside. These are currently the Augustine (in Mandres) and BZL (in Bure). You will receive updated information on the situation and (to the extent possible) logistical assistance. If La Gare can no longer serve as a place of accommodation, we will try to redirect you from the assembly points to different collective places in the area.

It is possible that the evacuation will be accompanied by attacks and blockades against other collective places. In case of emergency, prepare to show great spontaneity and initiative regarding accommodation and food!

• As long as La Gare manages to resist, the objectives of external support could include, for example, the following measures:

– Refueling of supplies in the area.

– Blocking of police infrastructure.

– Relay of our communications.

– Material and emotional support for those who decide to leave La Gare before the actual evacuation.

 

Phase 3 : the reaction

In addition to the very moment of the attack, the evacuation implies for the cops an intensive intervention of several weeks : the site must be “cleaned at the karcher”, secured and monitored. This involves complex logistics (patrols, team changes, demolition work, etc.). For us too, the defense of La Gare does not stop with the loss of the place : let’s turn this operation into a nightmare for all those involved.

We call for a determined reaction in case of expulsion! In addition to the decentralized actions of solidarity and anger addressed to the nuclear state officials and their minions, we want to gather together to provide an appropriate response to the attack against our movement.

Meeting on Saturday, the week following the evacuation, at 2 PM in Mandres-en-Barrois to show them that ‘Gare à la revanche’ is not just a fun word game!
